Costs for home modifications can quickly add up. But sometimes home adjustments have to be made to make life easier. Fortunately, in some cases you are entitled to refunds to reduce costs.

What are the conditions?
You are younger than 65 years old
The Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities (VAPH) will reimburse adjustments to your home if you are younger than 65. You can also receive a refund for specific aids, both during renovations and new construction.
Are there additional demolition works that are not reimbursed by the VAPH? Then you can sometimes apply for the Flemish improvement premium or the Flemish renovation premium.

You are 65 years or older
The Flemish Region gives an adaptation premium if you carry out work to make your home better suitable for yourself or other residents over 65. The adjustment premium amounts to 50 percent of the amount of the invoices submitted, with a maximum of 1,250 euros and a minimum of 600 euros. Conditions apply based on income and home.
