Mobility for persons with a disability
Persons with a disability are eligible for a discount on public transport and a VAT reduction when purchasing a car.
De Lijn
Persons with a disability and their companions, people over 65 and people with a low income can travel for free or at a reduced price with De Lijn:
- MOBIB card 65+;
- Free card for people with disabilities;
- Reduced rate;
- Free companion card (also valid for NMBS).
NMBS
Persons with a disability and their companions, people over 65 and people with a low income can travel for free or at a reduced price with NMBS:
- Preferential rate for seniors aged 65 and over;
- Reduction card;
- Free companion card;
- National public transport reduction card;
- Other benefits, such as priority ticket for a seat, first class for pregnant women and guidance by NMBS staff.
TEC and STIB
Persons with a disability and their companions, people over 65 and people with a low income can travel for free or at a reduced price with TEC and STIB.
Parking ticket
Both children and adults who meet the conditions can receive a parking ticket. Among other things, you can park unlimitedly in the blue zone. In a number of municipalities you can park for free. Please inquire with your city or municipality.

VAT purchase of car
Persons with a disability can receive a VAT reduction for the purchase of their car, materials and maintenance and repair work.

Road tax exemption
Anyone who is entitled to the VAT exemption when purchasing a car does not have to pay road tax or registration tax.
