Fixed allowance for Incontinence
Chronically ill people have high expenses. That is why they can combine different flat-rate reimbursements, including for incontinence materials.
There are two incontinence packages:
- Chronically ill and those in serious need of care
- They are entitled to an annual reimbursement of the costs of incontinence materials.
The amount is indexed annually. From January 1, 2024 it will be 610,53 euros. - The fixed allowance is not linked to a co-payment condition.
- They are entitled to an annual reimbursement of the costs of incontinence materials.
- Non-dependent persons
- People with an untreatable form of urinary incontinence (involuntary loss of urine) are entitled to an annual fixed allowance.
- From January 1, 2024 it will be 199,27 euros.
The fixed allowance for incontinence can be combined with the healthcare fixed allowance, the fixed allowance for palliative care and the fixed allowance for PVS patients.
What should you do?
- The home nurse submits the request to CM annually.
- Is there no home nurse coming to your home? Then you can submit the application yourself:

- Have it completed by your doctor.
- Send the form to CM's consulting physician.
- Do you need help with this? Contact the Social Work department.
Important: the application must be repeated annually.

- Submit the form to CM's consulting physician.
Important: the advising doctor gives his approval for three years. CM examines annually whether you still meet all administrative conditions. After three years you must submit a new application.
What are the conditions?
- You are entitled to a fixed allowance criterium B or C for home care for at least four of the last twelve months, with a score of 3 or 4 for the 'incontinence' criterion.
- Do not stay in a care facility for which the health insurance provides reimbursement for the last day of the above-mentioned four months (general or psychiatric hospital, rest and care home (RVT), rest home for the elderly (ROB), psychiatric care home (PVT), sheltered care initiative residential, certain rehabilitation centers).
- Be alive on the last day of the twelve-month reference period.
- You suffer from an untreatable form of urinary incontinence.
- You are not entitled to the fixed allowance for incontinence because you do not meet the dependency criterion.
- You do not stay in a rest home or care facility for which the health insurance provides reimbursement (with the exception of admission to an acute service and care in a day care center).
- You have not yet received a refund for car probe or incontinence products.
