Third party payment scheme

On October 1, 2015, the Royal Decree of September 18, 2015 came into effect with the new provisions on the application of the third-party payment scheme.

Every nurse may apply the third-party payer scheme, both contracted and non-conventional.

What are the consequences for nurses?

  • Its application takes place without additional administrative formalities .
  • The application for the third-party payer number and the notification of changes remain unchanged for groups where nurses invoice under a joint group number, even if both conventional and non-conventional nurses are affiliated.
  • CM must pay the invoice within two weeks .

Modalities

  • Invoicing must be done electronically (MyCareNet). The practical modalities and billing instructions remain unchanged.
  • You no longer need to send certificates for assistance provided, summary statements and regulations to CM . Prescriptions are kept in the nursing file for five years .
  • Always provide proof of the invoiced benefits and amounts to the patient.

Reading the eID card is mandatory. More information can be found on the Riziv website:

Important :

For beneficiaries without increased compensation, health insurance reimbursement is reduced by 25 percent for services provided by non-contracted nurses.
